Ah, Ms. Reyes. [His smile broadens into something a little less blandly polite.] Yes, hello. We did speak.
I realize I never did gave you my name. [Here, Lyall executes a very shallow bow and comes back up with the same smile on his face.] Professor Randolph Lyall. It is a pleasure to meet you.
A professor? [She smiles back. She hasn't met many of those. Granted back home there isn't any kind of formal teaching now, though maybe if worlds would stop ending literally, they could get back to humanity having some sort of structure.]
It's nice to meet you in person. I brought the blueprints of the small lab I built in case you wanted to see what I was working with. It's not really what I'm used to, but at least it isn't controlled by anyone here. [And that's a start. She places the cardboard roll with the blueprints on the counter.]
[She looks over the blue prints, pointing out the small area she created for a lab, pointing at an area.]
Well I have open areas here. I was thinking of some analyzers, hematology, DNA, more medical lab equipment that might assist a clinic if need be. I have some make shift burners, a few microscopes I've found, but I don't trust this place with medical information.
[That actually gets a half laugh from her, because yeah, she's from a more advanced time herself.]
Yes, as long as they're some computer hooked up to it, I can do what I need. I just liked that picture for the novelty. As a scientist, I guess, I've never seen something like that-- at least in person. It was more of a novelty interest. But practically, I need something more advanced.
That's fine. I've been in the city two years, and this was a more personal project. I'm not exactly trying to announce what I want to do. [She's already been someone of interest in the past, trying to lay low now.]
[Lyall nods in acknowledgement, looking over her plans once more.]
Let me speak to my partner and see. He does own the shop and I don't want to commit him to anything without discussing it with him first. I will contact you in a day or so, if that is acceptable?

[Lyall agrees, moving to take the tube. He doesn't quite respond to her question about his title beyond nodding amiably.
Drawing the blueprints out, he spreads them on top of the counter and then looks back at Raven.]
What kind of equipment were you interested in, specifically?

That is probably wise.
As to the level of technological advancement...is it safe to assume that you would prefer something a bit more modern than the device in that picture?
[Lyall cannot imagine that she might be interested in the type of lab equipment he has been used to using back where - when - he comes from.]

I understand. If we were to do this...I imagine it would take some time. We would have to do research, as I mentioned before.
Not that I wish to drive business away, but have you asked about this on the network? It might be more expedient for you.

Whatever we need to do, we'll do.

I’ll talk to you soon.
