London, England. Well, originally a small town in the English countryside but London's my home. Someone, rather sneeringly, informed me I was Victorian which makes sense the age is named after the Queen. Charming lady and all.
Ah, then we're similar. My home is in London as well, during the same regency.
My own design, yes, though of course inspired by the work of others. My partner and I run a shop here selling primarily clockwork mechanisms but also occasionally other devices. I assume our customers purchase them more for novelty than functionality. Considering, as we have mentioned, the scope of technology here.
That's the best news I've heard all day. It seems to be a bygone era to so many here.
So should someone with technology from that regency, as you noted, had need of repairs for their equipment, you and your partner might well be able to help them?
when you misuse a term because you didn't look at the definition long enough...
A happy accident, then? The photograph, of course, not its being sent. Or perhaps you did not take it at all. Things like these do tend to happen. Best to try to ignore them.
Still. I am glad to hear from you, if only accidentally. How have you been?
And I think it is safe enough. Providing, I suppose, you have no incriminating pictures.
Oh yes I suppose you would have needed to be contracted by now. I'm sorry to hear that it isn't entirely smooth sailing. It is a very awkward situation to be put in.
I'm afraid it has been sold already. But we have a few similar devices in the shop. Or perhaps we could build you one of your own if you would like.
[He almost offers to give her the schematics as well, in case she wants to build her own, but he does feel like he has a responsibility to his and Alessandro's business. Best not to take potential revenue away from themselves right at the beginning.]
I suppose it would depend on what you intend to use them for. I will say that neither I nor my partner are medical professionals and what I have constructed has been more for novelty's sake, I believe, than real use. They are, after all, antiquated compared to this world's standards and we both come from a place with much less technological advancement.
Given enough research, however, I am sure I could manage. Though I still believe we would be much more capable of building lab equipment than medical equipment.
I'm not a medical professional either, not really, but there is a doctor I met here-- he's trying to open a clinic, away from the powers that be here. So I think at this point, he might just be happy with anything.
Me though, I have a small lab I started to build when I bought the place last year. Not much, could use more.

May I ask where you are originally from? Or at least the general level of technological advancements, I suppose.
As to the contraption, it is a polariscope. Meant to reveal imperfections or stress inside gems or glass.

That's useful. Your own design or another?

And yes, we would be more than happy to assist you with repairs. What sort of equipment?

Thank you for saying so.
I hope nothing terribly personal of yours was sent out?

I hope it will as well. This is the first time this has ever happened, in my recollection. I don't believe it will happen again.
[He hasn't particularly connected the mishaps to the new app on his phone because some technology is still beyond him.]

That is a terribly apt way to describe his character, yes.
I hope he was courteous. He can be a bit much occasionally.
[Lyall is terribly fond of him. And yet.]

He was the epitome of a gentleman, I assure you.

[Lyall is familiar enough with Vanessa that he does feel comfortable being a bit tongue-in-cheek about his partner.]

[ and she has no qualms about being implicative right back. ]

In any event. I am very glad to hear that the two of you get along.
Perhaps you should come to dinner some time. We would be glad to have you.

I'm... well enough.
Things have been tense with my Dom
I don't know if we've managed to resolve things
Are you well?

I think we just had a fundamental misunderstanding of each other and never quite got on the right foot.

Have you any better idea of what you might be looking for now?
[Lyall might be able to help, he thinks, though his pool of Dominants that he knows is admittedly not the largest.]
